Installation guide for grassreinforcment for airfields, helipads, runways and taxiway with TERRA-GRID E® 35
This runway has been completely redesigned and reinforced. The ground is newly built and stable. The runway is now used for general aviation as well as for rescue flights. The track was completely fixed with TERRA-GRID E 35.
The taxiway was installed in the course of the installation of TERRA-GRID E® 35. The runway was extended and planned 250 m in advance with the grass reinforcement of TERRA-GRID E® 35.
The runway is now used by private and business aircrafts. The load-bearing capacity was increased by installing TERRA-GRID E® 35 to an MTOW of 10,500 kg.
Our friends of Breezer Aircraft in the far north of Germany have built a new factory runway for their plane production. Next to the factory and the hangars, an all-weather runway with TERRA-GRID E® 35 was installed.
For years now, our customers has been able to deliver aircraft and maintenance flights all year round.
The carrying capacity of this runway was not sufficient for use with heavy aircraft. After extensive planing and new sowing of the existing runway, TERRA-GRID E® 35 was installed. Again, the pilots can safely land and start all year round.
The special task with this runway was that the old track had a bad drainage and water was on the runway. The course was stabilized by the laying of partitions and filling with water-permeable material. TERRA-GRID E® 35 has been installed directly on the top – soil. The grass was sown in advance.
This special airfield for micro-light aircrafts have been fixed in several sections with TERRA-GRID E® 35.
This airfield is halfway down in a river valley, the problems being that only half could be used in spring and autumn. A regular flight operation was not possible.
Ever since TERRA-GRID E® 35 was installed the airfield can now be safely used all year around.
This clubland field is specially designed for the motor towing of the glider pilots. The towing track was kept very narrow, so that the pilots of the glider can prepare for the towing.
The takeoff distance for the track aircraft was broadly defined according to the aircraft data. Now can be flown in appropriate weather, without regard for a softened track.
In order to enable clear distinction of areas and regions, we offer markings which can be integrated with TERRA-GRID E® 35. The default colours are white and yellow however, there are no limitations for the desired colour.
