Reliable ground reinforcement for paddocks, riding arenas and indoor riding arenas

What should an optimal riding arena surface be like?

In order to keep your horses healthy and fit all year round, it is essential that your riding arena or indoor riding arena floor is properly surfaced and regularly maintained. Therefore, check whether your floor:

  • 1.

has optimal water regulation, where excess water is directed into the ground, e.g. via paddock slabs. At the same time, it should be able to store water during long dry periods in order to remain flexible.

  • 2.

is durable and resistant. The durability of your riding arena floor is determined by the high quality of the individual floor components. Look for quality riding arena fences for your paddocks, indoor arenas and runs.

  • 3.

is ready all year round and thus resistant to rain, snow and heat.

  • 4.

elastic and at the same time shear-resistant. A riding arena surface that is too hard can cause damage to the musculoskeletal system in the long run, while one that is too soft puts strain on the horse's tendons.

  • 5.

your paddock slabs can be cleaned well of all organic contamination using maintenance equipment.

2 Installation options

TERRA-GRID E® 35 Paddock Slabs and TERRA-GRID E® 35+ Paddock grids are laid on the existing ground, aligned briefly and connected to the existing layers. The use of machinery is not necessary. The pre-cut size of TERRA-GRID riding arena and paddock slabs makes installation quick and easy.

1.
Variant 1

In existing lawn or meadow areas, with well-drained, load-bearing subsoil and little stress, TERRA- GRID E® 35 paddock grids can be laid with the closed side facing upwards. The open underside with the integrated barbs anchors itself firmly to the subsoil.

2.
Variant 2

When laying TERRA-GRID * Paddock grids on riding arenas, in indoor riding arenas, winter runs and paddocks, the slab is laid with the closed cells facing downwards. This creates a stable surface with a high contact area. If the ground is muddy and not very stable, we recommend an additional substructure and the use of a geotextile.
